WHAT THEY ARE SAYING: Biden-Harris Administration Announces Preliminary Terms with TSMC

This week, the Biden-Harris Administration announced that the Department of Commerce and TSMC Arizona Corporation (TSMC Arizona), a subsidiary of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company Limited (TSMC), have signed a non-binding preliminary memorandum of terms to provide up to $6.6 billion in direct funding to support TSMC’s investment of more than $65 billion in three greenfield leading-edge fabs in Phoenix, Arizona, which will manufacture the world’s most advanced semiconductors. The Council’s Political Action Committee advocates for tech companies at the local, state and federal level, vets political candidates and endorses those with track records in supporting pro-tech legislation. Arizona Technology Council Adds Critical Optics and Workplace Technology Expertise to its Board at April Meeting

The Arizona Technology Council today announced it has appointed Katie Schwertz, senior engineering manager, Edmund Optics, and Matt Blair, president and co-owner, Immedia Integrated Technologies, to its board of directors. Governor Katie Hobbs joined leaders from The Arizona Community College Coordinating Council (AC4) at GateWay Community College (GWCC) – Washington Campus on Thursday, April 25 to announce the Community College Workforce Scholarship Program. Our very own Karla Morales also spoke at the event.

The Community College Workforce Scholarship Program allows students to complete training for meaningful careers in high-wage, high-growth industries. The statewide scholarship program will receive $4.5 million and offer students of any age the chance to earn a two-year degree, a certificate, or skills and training in various programs.
