Aerospace, Aviation, Space, and Defense (AASD) Committee

  • The AASD Committee held a successful meeting in April at the National Guard’s WAATS training center at Pinal Air Park. The committee introduced their first pilot project around workforce development rubrics and trying to better standardize the skill/hiring signals from industry outbound to educational programs and institutions. Employers were prompted with a simple survey to complete to help the committee confirm starting presumptions about domain subsectors base skills.
  • The next committee meeting is set for June 17 at The University of Arizona’s Space Institute.
  • The committee is working to support the Council’s upcoming Aerospace, Aviation, Defense and Manufacturing Conference in Tucson July 11.

BIRD Energy Call for Proposals

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), the Israel Ministry of Energy, jointly with the Israel Innovation Authority and the BIRD Foundation invite you to apply for grant funding through “BIRD Energy.” This program develops innovation through U.S.-Israel cooperation on a range of clean energy technologies, including renewable energy, energy efficiency, natural gas and energy-water technologies. Home Electrification and Appliance Rebates (HEAR) Program Launches

Arizona’s Office of Resiliency has officially fully launched the HEAR Program, part of the Inflation Reduction Act’s $8.8 billion investment in Home Energy Rebates. This program offers up to $14,000 in point-of-sale rebates for lower- and moderate-income households to purchase high-efficiency appliances and upgrades, including heat pumps, induction stoves, insulation, ventilation, water heaters and more.
