Funding Opportunity for Arizona NGOs
EPA Thriving Communities Sub-Grants Are Now Live Last year, the EPA announced $600 million in funding to 11 grantmakers for environmental justice projects nationwide. These grantmakers will provide subgrants to community-based nonprofits and other eligible organizations for assessment, planning, and project development, helping alleviate the burden of the federal grants process on small nonprofits serving underserved communities. Subaward funds are expected to be distributed by early 2025, with competitions beginning shortly after. Significant awards, such as $300k, are available in several categories, offering a valuable opportunity for NGOs in Arizona to access funding for impactful work. Eligible applicants include nonprofits, Tribes, intertribal consortia, local governments, higher education institutions, and Native American organizations. Applications for the Environmental Justice Thriving Communities Region 9 Grantmaking Program will be accepted on a rolling basis, with monthly award announcements.
