Aerospace, Aviation, Space, and Defense (AASD) Committee

Mission: The Aerospace, Aviation, Space, and Defense (AASD) Committee serves as the central coordinating body under the direction of the Arizona Technology Council to position Arizona as a global hub of aerospace excellence. The committee drives innovation and addresses critical aerospace, aviation, space, and defense challenges by encouraging collaboration among industry leaders, academia, government agencies, and emerging companies. AASD aims to bridge start-up gaps, advance state and national security initiatives, promote economic growth through strategic partnerships, connect associated manufacturing, inspire policy advocacy, and support workforce development.

Committee Objectives:

  • Innovation and Technology Acceleration: Implement programs that support the development and commercialization of cutting-edge aerospace technologies, with measurable outcomes such as patents filed and startups funded.
  • Policy Advocacy and Roadmap Development: Serve as a unified voice to influence aerospace and defense policies at state and national levels, contributing to the creation of Arizona’s Aerospace Roadmap.
  • Workforce Development: Organize workshops and events in partnership with educational institutions and companies to equip students with industry-preferred skills and tools, bridging the gap between education and employment.
  • Collaborative Projects: Identify and pilot large-scale projects that unite multiple Arizona companies, attracting business to the state and fostering a robust aerospace ecosystem.
  • Annual Conference: Host the 13th Annual Aerospace, Aviation, Defense, and Manufacturing (AADM) Conference in Tucson, bringing together industry experts to discuss trends, challenges, and forecasts.
