Arizona Technology Council to launch CEO network in January

Phoenix Business Journal

The Arizona Technology Council is launching a CEO network for Phoenix-area leaders of technology companies to collaborate, navigate industry challenges and celebrate achievements.

The CEO network, launching in January, will meet monthly for a half-day in central Phoenix, with the first event slated to be held at the Arizona Technology Council office at 2800 N. Central Ave., Suite 1530.

“I think the biggest goal is to provide a way for CEOs in the tech sector to support one another directly. It’s personal. It’s connections. It’s recommendations,” said Eric Miller, board chair of the Arizona Technology Council, as well as principal and co-founder of Tempe-based PADT. “One of the problems we have in Phoenix is we’re a very large community, but we aren’t super connected.”

The technology council’s Phoenix CEO network builds upon the success of a similar event in Tucson that brought together 15 business leaders in the aerospace and defense industries, Miller said.

The decision to launch a CEO network in Phoenix was also prompted by an influx of new technology industry leaders in the Valley.

“Covid is over and with the new year, people want to interact more,” Miller said. “And we’ve got a lot of new CEOs in the Phoenix area now with all the growth we’re having.”

The CEO network costs $1,500 per year and is limited to CEOs in the technology industry. The technology council is accepting applications through Jan. 9.

The technology council aims to have one to two dozen participants in the CEO network, Miller said.

Members of the network will choose discussion topics and where to host future events, he added.

“It’s really part of the technology council’s efforts to build a stronger community in 2023,” Miller said.

The Arizona Technology Council is a science and technology trade organization with more than 750 members, including early-stage startups and large corporations.
