Arizona Technology Council Elects Marcus Engineering President Patrick Marcus to Board of Directors
Council Also Announces ‘24/’25 Officers and an Additional Term Appointments of Directors
PHOENIX, Oct. 25, 2024 — The Arizona Technology Council today announced that Patrick Marcus, president of Marcus Engineering LLC, has been added its board of directors. Marcus was elected unanimously to serve a three-year term at the Council’s quarterly board meeting held on Oct. 24. Marcus is an industry veteran and successful entrepreneur who has contributed significantly to Arizona’s innovation economy, as well as being an active member of the technology community.
The Council also announced the continuation of the following board officers at the meeting:
- Chairman – Alex Iuorio, senior vice president, Avnet
- Vice Chairwoman – Christine Boles, vice president, Intel
- President and CEO – Steven G. Zylstra, Arizona Technology Council and SciTech Institute
- Secretary – Jonathon Talcott, partner-elect, Ballard Spahr
- Treasurer – Eric Lewis, partner, EY
- Chairman Emeritus – Eric Miller, principal and co-founder, PADT

In addition to the elected officers and this quarter’s new board member, the Council announced directors serving additional three-year terms. Serving their second terms on the board are:

The board of directors serves advisory and fiduciary roles by representing the interests of the state’s technology industries in the Council’s strategic planning and ongoing operations. The current board includes 30 members representing a diverse set of organizations.

Patrick Marcus, president, Marcus Engineering LLC
Marcus is the president of Marcus Engineering, LLC, an electronics engineering firm, in Tucson. Marcus Engineering is an expert in regulated electronics products for medical, military, aerospace, mining and other industries where design quality is critical. Marcus earned his doctorate in biomedical engineering and bachelor of science in electrical engineering with honors, cum laude from The University of Arizona. He is a graduate of the prestigious McGuire Center for Entrepreneurship, as well as the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program based at Babson College. Marcus regularly mentors engineers and entrepreneurs, and is tirelessly dedicated to local business leadership and Arizona’s entrepreneurial economy.
Marcus also sits on the advisory boards of the U of A College of Engineering, BIOSA (Bioindustry Organization of Southern Arizona), and Southern Arizona Technology & Entrepreneurship Center (Pima Community College). He is also an active member of AZBIO, the Southern Arizona Leadership Council, and the Breakfast Club of Tucson CEO Leadership Group. Marcus also mentors for the College of Engineering, NSF’s Innovation Corps, is a judge for the Arizona Innovation Challenge grant program; and is a commercialization partner with Tech Launch Arizona housed at the U of A.
