STEM Goes Red

As the largest funder of cardiovascular and stroke research outside of the United States government, the American Heart Association understands the pressing need for young women to pursue careers in STEM.

We believe we must continue to invest in science and research with the knowledge that improvements can always be made, and transformative information can always be uncovered.  Powering the next great medical breakthroughs means empowering young women to take a seat at the table and dedicate their minds to advancing the fields of science, technology, engineering, and math.

MAKING A DIFFERENCE

The STEM Goes Red initiative aims to inspire young women to follow their passions and incorporate STEM into any career path they wish to pursue.  By exposing these girls to motivating female influencers from science, technology, engineering, and mathematics backgrounds, we hope to empower the next generation of female trailblazers who could change the world and eradicate heart disease.

Together we will educate girls in Southern Arizona on the importance of living a healthy lifestyle, we will find cures for heart disease and stroke, we will encourage STEM careers, and we will level the playing field so that every girl has the opportunity to live a life she loves.
