From mobile phones to smart TVs and the myriad digital devices in-between, omnipresent screens threaten to distract our kids, undermine their relationships, and seriously compromise their wellbeing with unhealthy content, online predators, cyberbullying, and misinformation. The need for a practical, evidence-based roadmap to digital wellness for children and youth has never been
greater.
This is why Speak Up Stand Up Save a Life is partnering with The Mediatrician, Dr. Michael Rich (Founder & Director of the Digital Wellness Lab at Harvard Medical School and author of The Mediatrician’s Guide: A Joyful Approach to Raising Healthy, Smart, Kind Kids in a Screen-Saturated World) to create a special one-day training for student leaders. Through skits, presentations, and interactive activities, participants will learn the science-based art of thriving in a digital world and craft strategies for promoting digital wellness in their home schools.
