Optics Valley Technical Series: Micro-Optics for Laser Beam Shaping and Line Generation

Register

Laser beam shaping is at the core for making the laser, and in particular the diode laser, work in different applications. Controlling micro-optics quality, micro-system assembly and scalability factors are key for the successful transfer to sustainable production. Micro-optic design solutions and steps towards the required technology for access to various industrial segments will be shown and explained.

About the Presenter:

Dr. Martin Forrer has a master’s degree as Physicist from ETH Zurich and a PhD in medical laser applications from the University of Berne. His industry work started in 1997 on European projects to increase high power for diode lasers in the infrared. Since then he has realized various successful product developments up to the industrial scalability in micro-optics, endoscopic micro-camera vision and diode laser integration. In 2019, he became Senior VP of Business Development.
