A program to promote diversity in the information technology and computer science fields is getting some backing through a $10,000 grant awarded to The University of Arizona’s Eller College of Management’s Department of Management Information Systems.
The Academic Alliance Seed Fund Award comes from the National Center for Women & Information Technology. The fund is supported by Microsoft Research.
The program promotes workplace diversity through awareness-building among the next generation of leaders. It includes a learning phase with guest speakers and a practical phase with students using their knowledge in team challenges proposed by partners Raytheon and Walmart.
