The Council Will Also Present Awards for Southern Arizona Innovator, Manufacturer and Member of the Year
TUCSON, Ariz., October 13, 2016 — The fourth annual Southern Arizona Tech + Business Expo, hosted by the Arizona Technology Council and the Arizona Commerce Authority will provide a platform for regional technology leaders to showcase their latest technology or business process innovation and services. The event will be held on October 13, 2016 at the Tucson Convention Center starting at 2:00 p.m.
At the Expo, over 45 companies from Phoenix and Southern Arizona will exhibit, representing a diverse mix of manufacturers, IT and engineering firms, and business service providers. The agenda also includes informative, interactive presentations from the following organizations:
- 4D Technology, Inc., Tucson
- Vector Space Systems, Tucson
- The University of Arizona, Tech Parks Arizona’s Global Advantage Program, Tucson
- Sustaining Edge Solutions, Inc., Phoenix
- World View Enterprise, Inc., Tucson
“Tucson is finding strength in technology-based companies, as evidenced by the great participation we are having at this annual event,” said Steven G. Zylstra, president and CEO of the Arizona Technology Council. “This year’s Expo is a great representation of our diverse membership base with companies from Phoenix and Southern Arizona coming together to create more economic growth in Arizona.”
The Expo is also honored to have local CEO, Ryan George of Simpleview, Inc. as its keynote speaker. Ryan’s personal story is a true inspiration to all business leaders and people who are interested in starting their own business. Ryan, a University of Arizona graduate, will share how he started Simpleview and grew it into a company which now employs over 175 people.

The Council will also honor four Southern Arizona companies for their achievements in helping transform their respective industries through innovation and new products, and promoting the technology sector in the region.
The following awards will be presented at the Expo:
- Manufacturer of the Year: AGM Container Controls, Inc., Tucson
- Southern Arizona Technology Council Member Organization of the Year: Universal Avionics Systems Corporation, Tucson
- Innovation Leader of the Year: Roche Group’s Ventana Medical Systems, Tucson
- Distinguished Service: Blue Canoe Marketing, Tucson
