Phoenix Business Journal names Mignon Gould as associate editor

Phoenix Business Journal

The Phoenix Business Journal is pleased to announce that Mignon Gould has been hired as associate editor, overseeing all editorial content related to events and special publications.

A veteran journalist and longtime Phoenix-area resident, Gould will work closely with Managing Editor Erin Edgemon to shape editorial coverage for events such as Best Places to Work, 40 Under 40, Most Admired Leaders and more. Gould will also work with Photo Editor Jim Poulin and Events Director Alex McAlister to coordinate the photo shoots for special event coverage.

“Mignon brings considerable journalism and business expertise to this newly created position as associate editor,” said Business Journal Editor in Chief Greg Barr. “The Business Journal is well-known for its high-profile and long-standing signature award programs such as 40 Under 40, and Mignon’s creativity, organizational skills and high-energy approach will really help us take the editorial coverage around these programs to a new level.”

Prior to joining the Business Journal, Gould ran her own business, Mignon Media, since 2010 working with business owners and organizations to develop digital marketing campaigns and content strategy, and she is the founder and executive director of FashFilmFete, a film festival held annually at Phoenix Art Museum focusing on fashion storytelling that curates a selection of Hollywood, indie, experimental and documentary films to showcase the significance of fashion in filmmaking.

She was also the editor in chief for TheChicSpy.com for a decade through 2017, a national style and entertainment website. From 2006-2008, Gould — an Arizona State University graduate — worked for The Arizona Republic and Gannett’s USA Today Network, writing lifestyle and entertainment features.

“We have a wealth of innovative businesses and organizations throughout the Valley who the Phoenix Business Journal honors each year through its awards programs,” Gould said. “I am excited to join the publication, which has done a stellar job of featuring a diverse lineup of business leaders and founders while furthering the success of so many industries and organizations in the Phoenix metro.”

Gould can be reached at [email protected].

The Phoenix Business Journal is part of the American City Business Journals publishing company, which oversees print and digital publications in 46 cities across the U.S.
