Arizona Technology Council & VitalEco Launch A High-Integrity Carbon Projects Portfolio
The Arizona Technology Council (AZTC) and Arizona-based company VitalEco have launched the VitalEco Portfolio, bringing interested buyers closer to a selection of high-integrity carbon projects.
By partnering with VitalEco, AZTC will now be able to offer its network of 750 member companies access to the vetted VitalEco catalogue of projects, helping them advance on their sustainability strategies.
The VitalEco Portfolio combines projects focused on methane emissions abatement, biochar and biogenic applications, as well as regenerative agriculture.
The methane-centered initiatives work with depleted oil and gas wells in the United States, tackling methane emissions at the sources, while the selected biochar and biogenic applications projects span across the U.S., Canada, and Europe.
Through the VitalEco Portfolio, buyers can also tap into credits from regenerative agriculture projects in the U.S. Midwest that introduce sustainable farming practices that in turn enable atmospheric CO2 storage in the soil.
AZTC and VitalEco clarify that every project offered in the portfolio is a member of The Northern Trust Carbon Ecosystem™ digital platform that enables a transparent, end-to-end lifecycle management of digital carbon credits.
Additionally, VitalEco has stated that a portion of the proceeds from carbon credit sales will be donated back to AZTC, which will use the funds to support Council programs and enhance collaborations that would strengthen Arizona’s leadership in science and innovative solutions.
By investing in projects from the VitalEco Portfolio, buyers will be taking action towards their in-house climate targets while simultaneously providing support for AZTC’s other initiatives.
Arizona Technology Council President and CEO Steven G. Zylstra commented, “Arizona’s technology community is known for shaping the future. This collaboration with VitalEco extends that leadership into sustainability, offering members practical tools to take measurable carbon action.”
On behalf of VitalEco, CEO Jan Belt stated, “VitalEco’s mission is to prevent emissions today and scale solutions for tomorrow. Every project in our portfolio is part of The Northern Trust Carbon Ecosystem™, and, importantly, proceeds from carbon credit sales will be donated back to AZTC to strengthen its programs.”
