Girish Rishi, former Tyco International executive vice president, has been named the new CEO of Scottsdale-based JDA Software Group, an Arizona Technology Council member. Rishi was senior vice president for the Enterprise division of Motorola Solutions before joining Tyco to oversee its North America building automation business and global retail solutions.
He replaces chairman and CEO Bal Dail, who will remain at JDA through the first quarter of 2017 to help ensure a seamless transition. He also will continue as a senior advisor to New Mountain Capital, which in late 2016 partnered with Blackstone to make a $575 million equity investment in JDA to help fuel product innovation.
Michael Capellas and Lloyd “Buzz” Waterhouse also have been named chairman and vice chairman of JDA’s board of directors, respectively. Capellas is CEO of strategic technology advisory firm Capellas Partners and Waterhouse most recently was CEO of McGraw-Hill Education.
