Fredric Bellamy joins Carpenter, Hazlewood, Delgado & Bolen as its newest partner

Carpenter, Hazlewood, Delgado & Bolen (CHDB) are pleased to announce that data security and privacy attorney Fredric D. Bellamy has joined the firm as its newest partner. Based in Tempe, Ariz., Bellamy counsels business and municipalities across all 50 states in the areas of cybersecurity, data privacy and technology law. Named by U.S. News & World Report’s “Best Lawyers in America” as the “2018 Lawyer of the Year” in technology law in Phoenix, Bellamy brings his wealth of experience and dedication to CHDB.

“Fred’s vast experience in cybersecurity and technology law brings a unique opportunity to our existing community association, insurance carrier and general business clients,” explains Scott Carpenter, CHDB’s managing partner.  “As more and more of our clients allow accessibility to their data over the internet, Fred’s experience advising clients on preventing and responding to data breaches brings a level of expertise we are confident our clients will appreciate.”

Along with his expertise in cybersecurity and privacy law, Bellamy also focuses on intellectual property law and complex commercial litigation cases. Bellamy’s 30 years of experience practicing in these key areas has earned him a Southwest Superlawyer’s designation in intellectual property litigation and a high ranking in environmental law (including water rights) in Chambers USA.

“I am excited to join CHDB’s extraordinary team of attorneys,” Bellamy said. “CHDB’s regional platform and innovative approach to client service makes this a natural fit for my practice. I look forward to not only serving my existing clients under the CHDB umbrella, but also assisting the firm’s clients to prevent data breaches and protect privacy.”

As a longstanding member of the Board of Directors with the Arizona Technology Council, chairman of the Council’s Law & Technology Committee and an active member of its Cybersecurity Committee, Bellamy works  to help serve, grow and connect Arizona-based businesses that are in or serve our community’s thriving tech sector. As a partner with CHDB with three decades of experience with Arizona’s tech sector, he is able to assist many Arizona-based businesses with his broad scope of legal expertise and intricate knowledge of data privacy and security laws across many jurisdictions.

“My goal is to help Arizona-based businesses build a strong technological base at home, and help these companies build a successful infrastructure for expansion into other markets,” Bellamy added. “CHDB’s regional platform allows us to not only build relationships with clients based in Arizona, but also to help tentrepreneurial enterprises reach their fullest potential through growth and innovation in other markets CHDB serves. My affiliation with the Arizona Technology Council as the #1 tech networking association in Arizona helps me understand and support its goal to connect, empower, and engage technology companies across the state of Arizona, and those goals align with CHDB’s service to our business clients throughout Arizona and the Southwest.”

Bellamy graduated from Harvard Law School and received a Bachelor of Arts from Harvard University.
