State of the Council Breakfast

Presented by Arizona Technology Council

Join Steve Zylstra, AZTC president and CEO, for a full organization brief and breakfast. Steve will discuss:

  • Recent Council activities
  • Update on the Foundation, which supports STEM education by carrying out projects, programs, fairs, bowls and festivals
  • Public policy successes in Arizona and in Washington, including R&D tax credit legislation
  • Workforce development initiatives
  • Council partnership with the Arizona Commerce Authority on business retention and expansion activities

Arizona Technology Council members and non-members are both welcome to attend.

The Arizona Technology Council is the driving force behind making our state the fastest growing technology hub in the nation; connecting and empowering Arizona’s technology community. As Arizona’s premier trade association for science and technology companies, the Council is recognized as having a diverse professional business community and top professional networking organization.

Steven G. Zylstra Sc.D. (Hon.) serves as president and CEO of the Arizona Technology Council, a role he assumed in December of 2007. He is responsible for strategy, operations, all financial matters and accomplishment of policy development for the Council. Zylstra is a vocal spokesman for the value technology can provide in raising social and economic standards in Arizona and was named in 2016 as “Leader of the Year, Technology,” by the Arizona Capitol Times and a “Most Admired Leader” by the Phoenix Business Journal.

Zylstra has served in numerous technology leadership and advisory roles to the Governor and currently serves on several association, industry and community boards, including being recognized as an Aspen Institute Fellow for his work in workforce development. Between August 2013 and August 2015, he served as the Chairman of the global organization Technology Councils of North American (TECNA). Steve earned a bachelor’s degree in automotive engineering technology from Western Michigan University and was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Science in Technology from the University of Advancing Technology.
