Movie Night | The Netherlands presents: Together We Cycle

Bicycles might not be the first thing that comes to mind during AZ Tech Week—but the systems that make cycling safe, accessible, and part of daily life are a form of technology in their own right.

Join us for a movie night at Culdesac Tempe as we explore the remarkable story of cycling in the Netherlands. The documentary Together We Cycle shows that cycling wasn’t always the obvious choice. Until the 1970s, Dutch mobility followed global trends, cities were built for cars, and it seemed the bicycle’s day was over. Then, against all odds, Dutch society took a different turn. People kept cycling, and over time, cities adapted, policies changed, and biking became a natural part of everyday life. This documentary uncovers the key events, decisions, and social movements that made the Netherlands a cycling nation.
