What inspired you to pursue your current career path?

“For the past 20 years, I’ve worked in workforce development and K-12 education, helping prepare students for future careers. Today, I’m excited to work on the industry side, helping close the gap between education and workforce needs. I’m passionate about building Arizona’s tech talent pipeline so our economy, communities, and future generations can continue to thrive.”

What does a typical day in your role look like?

“One of the things I love most about my role is that no two days are the same. Some days are focused on projects and planning from my home office in my pjs, while others have me speaking on panels, attending meetings, or hosting events. I enjoy bringing people together, building relationships, and creating opportunities for collaboration. The most rewarding part is seeing people connect and finding ways to work together to make a positive impact in our community.”

How do you take your coffee? If not coffee, what’s your favorite morning drink?

“I’m very particular about my coffee. In fact, it’s what gets me out of bed every morning! I set aside 20 minutes each day to slowly enjoy my coffee and visualize how I want my day to unfold. I skip dairy and use almond milk, and I even invested in an espresso machine to get it just right. My go-to recipe includes a mushroom blend, a touch of creamer, and a little brown sugar, all in an extra-large cup. But if there’s one non-negotiable, it’s the foam. Foam always comes first!”

What is your favorite weekend activity?

“My favorite weekends involve anything that gets me moving. Whether it’s a yoga class, a day of golf with girlfriends, or a hike through Sabino Canyon, I love being active and spending time outdoors. Sundays are all about family. I enjoy brunching with my youngest son, and every third Sunday we gather the whole family together, taking turns hosting dinner between my mom, my two sons, and me. To end the weekend, there’s nothing better than relaxing with the boyfriend and watching classic black-and-white movies before bed.”
