Efficiency Arizona Issues 1,000th Rebate, Adds New Participating Retailer to Program
Arizona Governor’s Office of Resiliency
Average participating household has saved over $7,000 on energy-efficiency home upgrade costs
Phoenix, AZ – Today, the Arizona Governor’s Office of Resiliency announced its Efficiency Arizona program has provided its 1,000th rebate for highly efficient appliances and HVAC equipment. The program is available to income-eligible Arizona households and delivers long-term savings on energy bills for Arizona families.
As of April 30, Efficiency Arizona has issued 1,076 rebates to eligible Arizona households, totalling 618,152 kilowatt-hours of energy savings. More than 77% of these investments have gone to low-income households.
“Efficiency Arizona is life-changing for many Arizonans participating in this program. As we head into the hottest months of the year, Efficiency Arizona can be a lifeline for families wanting to be comfortable in their homes and lower the cost of their monthly energy bills,” said Governor Katie Hobbs. “I encourage Arizonans to find out if they are eligible for Efficiency Arizona, to make their homes more energy-efficient and to lower their ongoing energy costs.”
Since the program was launched in late 2024, Efficiency Arizona households have, on average, saved more than $7,000 in total project costs, with additional cost savings reported in their monthly energy bills following rebate project completion.
“Efficiency Arizona continues to expand its offerings, allowing more families to take advantage of reduced costs to unlock long-term utility bill savings and improve their home safety and comfort as we enter another record-breaking heat season. Right now, we estimate that 1 million Arizona households may be eligible for an Efficiency Arizona rebate,” said Governor’s Office of Resiliency Director Maren Mahoney. “This program is available in every county in the state through our HVAC-qualified contractors network and retail partners, including all Lowe’s retail stores. In the coming months, Efficiency Arizona will also be available to multifamily units and through additional participating retailers.”
This month, Efficiency Arizona added Allen Home Comfort as a participating retailer to the program, providing program participants with another option to take advantage of appliance savings. Allen Home Comfort is an Arizona-based online retail company that offers heat pump water heaters, heat pump dryers, and electric cooking appliances.
“We are excited and honored to partner with the State of Arizona through the Efficiency Arizona program. As an eighth-generation Arizona family, we founded Allen Home Comfort in 2015 with a simple goal: helping homeowners lower their bills,” said Jordan Allen, Managing Partner of Allen Home Comfort. “We are eager to offer high-efficiency home comfort products — including heat pump water heaters, heat pump clothes dryers, and HVAC solutions — to Arizona families. This partnership aligns perfectly with our deep-rooted commitment to making Arizona homes more comfortable and affordable.”
Efficiency Arizona-approved applicants can use a qualified contractor to complete their rebate-eligible work, or they can purchase qualified products through a participating retailer. Rebates are available for the following qualified products and building materials:
- Heat pumps for heating and cooling
- Heat pump water heaters
- Heat pump dryers
- Electric cooking appliances
- Insulation, air sealing, and ventilation
- Electric wiring
- Electric load service upgrades
Funding is anticipated to be available through 2029 for eligible Arizona households to upgrade their home and save on their energy bills. For more information about the Efficiency Arizona program, visit EfficiencyArizona.com
