As Cybersecurity Awareness Month comes to an end here in October, we wanted to share some helpful cybersecurity resources for aspiring cybersecurity professionals who want to network, learn more about the field and stay up-to-date on the latest cybersecurity trends. You can use resources like these when you’re on the cybersecurity job hunt to grow your knowledge and skills.

Want to connect with other passionate cybersecurity professionals and share your opinions? Check out these cybersecurity communities and forums.

1. Information Security Forums

When you become a member of Information Security Forums, you’ll gain access to a members-only website featuring an interactive discussion platform and cybersecurity resource library. Cybersecurity professionals from more than 400 of the world’s leading organizations are members on the site.

2. ITCyberCareers.com

If you work in cybersecurity or you want to enter the industry, Arizona has a high demand for cybersecurity professionals. ITCyberCareers.com is a hub for high-demand cybersecurity careers, cybersecurity education and training, and scholarships for cybersecurity programs. Visit it for cybersecurity news, cybersecurity job postings, Arizona cybersecurity organizations and so much more.

3. MalwareTips

There are more than 50,000 registered members participating in the MalwareTips community, posting about the latest security updates, cybersecurity technology and news.

4. r/Cybersecurity

The Reddit subreddit r/cybersecurity is one of the best places to chat with cybersecurity professionals about any topic related to cybersecurity. Posts are “upvoted” or “downvoted,” which means the most interesting content rises to the top. Ask away about anything from cybersecurity career advice to business security questions.

5. Wilders Security Forums

The Wilders Security Forums are always active, with discussion boards for topics like mobile device security, antivirus software, anti-malware software, firewalls and security update alerts. Log on to discuss topics with hundreds of members in real time.

6. Dark Reading

Dark Reading is a cybersecurity news site and online community for cybersecurity professionals. The site is divided into 12 sections that cover enterprise security challenges including Analytics, Attacks & Breaches, Careers & People, Endpoint, IoT, Mobile, Operations, Application Security, Perimeter, Physical Security, Cloud Security, Risk, Threat Intelligence, and Vulnerabilities & Threats.

7. Digital Guardian blog

The Digital Guardian blog has weekly articles covering news about data breaches, threat research, data protection and data security topics. Every Friday, the blog features its “Friday Five,” a roundup of five must-read stories on information security from around the world.

8. Krebs on Security

Krebs on Security blog author Brian Krebs is a former decade-plus-long reporter for “The Washington Post,” where he wrote more than 1,300 blogs for the Security Fix blog and hundreds of stories for the newspaper. On his blog, the journalist continues to post several news stories a week on cybersecurity topics like outages, government regulations and security vulnerabilities.

9. Schneier on Security

Bruce Schneier has been writing about security issues on his blog since 2004, with near-daily updates on cybersecurity topics such as security risks, ransomware attacks and machine learning topics. You can subscribe to his newsletter for a monthly digest of posts.

10. WeLiveSecurity

The blog WeLiveSecurity is a collection of news and opinions from global cybersecurity experts at the ESET antivirus company. The blog divides posts into categories including how tos, privacy, ransomware, malware, videos and cybersecurity tips, with updates nearly daily from a variety of voices from around the world.

11. The CyberWire

The CyberWire podcast directory features podcasts on a variety of cybersecurity topics, including cybersecurity attacks and cybersecurity career insights. Series include those hosted by Microsoft experts like Chief Information Security Officers (CISO) Bret Arsenault, as well as those hosted by CyberWire founder Dave Bittner.

12. Defensive Security Podcast

The Defensive Security Podcast is a cybersecurity podcast hosted by cybersecurity experts Andrew Kalat and Jerry Bell, focused on covering breaches and securities for defense. There are new episodes around each month, on topics like data breaches, hacking, malware and ransomware. Each episode online also features a list of related resources and reading.

13. AZ Tech Cast

AZ TechCast, the podcast of the Arizona Technology Council, is dedicated to covering innovation and technology in Arizona and beyond. AZ TechCast’s hosts and guests will share success stories, news and analysis about the region’s leading startups, companies and emerging technologies, as well as the latest industry trends and critical issues propelling Arizona’s growing technology ecosystem.

14. Security Current

The Security Current podcasts feature interviews with cybersecurity executives, particularly CISOs, who share what their companies’ cybersecurity strategies are and where they see trends going. Hosts vary, with several recent episodes being hosted by David Cass, VP of Cyber & IT Risk at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, and Tomás Maldonado, CISO of the National Football League (NFL).

15. Security Now!

Security Now! is a weekly 2-hour podcast on topics related to personal computer security. Hosts and cybersecurity experts Steve Gibson and Leo Laporte discuss security updates and provide commentary on notable news. Each episode covers several topics, from Facebook’s latest 6-hour outage, to Microsoft security developments, to ongoing DDoS attacks.
