Federal clean energy tax credits are building a stronger, more competitive Arizona.
Arizona is rapidly emerging as a national clean energy hub. Thanks to federal clean energy tax credits, our state has attracted over $12.75 billion in investment and generated more than 18,000 new clean energy jobs since 2022. These investments are not only building Arizona’s clean energy economy—they are lowering energy costs, reducing climate pollution, and expanding opportunities in communities in need.
Let’s keep what’s working.

“This isn’t just about businesses and factories and leading the way. It’s about families and communities: better paying jobs, lower energy bills, economic opportunity, stronger schools, and thriving communities.
Arizona is on the cusp of a future where a mom can drive her kids to school in an electric car made in Arizona, charged with solar-powered energy harnessed under our hot Arizona sun, and stored in Arizona-built electric batteries.”

Clean Energy By The Numbers
New Clean Energy Projects = High-Quality Jobs
- $12.75 billion in clean energy investment has been committed in Arizona.
- 18,703 clean energy jobs have been created or moved forward—9th most in the nation.
- 30 clean energy projects have been launched in Arizona—8th most nationally.
- Projects span six sectors: batteries, clean technology, EVs, grid and transmission, hydrogen and solar.
- The Arizona Commerce Authority estimates that repealing these credits could threaten 69,000 jobs and $58 billion in investment statewide.
Reduced Energy Costs for Businesses & Families
- In 2023 alone, more than 88,000 Arizona households used clean energy tax credits to save over $285 million on energy upgrades and monthly bills.
- Utility providers report that clean energy incentives are directly enabling them to keep consumer rates lower or risk seeing electricity costs rise by ~11% for households and ~16% for businesses by 2029 if tax credits go away.
At Risk Without Continued Support
A national analysis highlights that 142 clean energy projects ($3.66 billion investment) in Arizona have been stalled or canceled under prior policy uncertainty — putting 10,600+ jobs at risk.
Why This Matters to Arizona Business
- Jobs & Investment: These tax credits are delivering tens of thousands of well-paying jobs and funneling billions into our state economy.
- Operating Cost Savings: Lower utility bills free up capital for innovation and growth.
- Competitive Advantage: Clean energy makes Arizona more attractive for local entrepreneurs and outside investors alike.
