The Arizona Technology Council, in partnership with the Arizona Commerce Authority, today announced their selections for Outstanding Technology Senator of the Year, Outstanding Technology Representative of the Year and the top Tech 10 Legislators, in recognition of their roles in advancing technology in Arizona.

For the third consecutive year, ASU is in the top 10 for U.S. patents issued to U.S. universities—and 11th worldwide—according to an annual ranking of the top universities by the National Academy of Inventors and the Intellectual Property Owners Association. In 2020, ASU was issued 140 U.S. patents, up from 137 the previous year, a total that ties with the University of Florida and puts ASU just one spot behind Harvard.

The Arizona Technology Council and the Arizona Commerce Authority have announced individual award winners, company award finalists, Future Innovators of the Year and Teacher of the Year winners for the 2018 Governor’s Celebration of Innovation Awards (GCOI). The awards honor the leaders and visionaries whose body of work contribute to the growth and prosperity of Arizona’s technology sector.
