Phoenix-Valley Tech Teams to Compete in Gaming Event
On Friday, March 29, local SaaS company Axosoft will open the doors of their co-working space in North Scottsdale as GitKraken hosts the largest video game tournament of competing tech companies the Phoenix Valley has ever seen.
Up to 64 players will compete in a double-elimination tournament for the chance to win cash prizes and claim the coveted title of #AXOSMASH Champion. The Quick Deets:
- Minimum of 1 and up to 4 players per team.
- Team registration is $60.
- All players will receive a FREE GitKraken Pro license for one year ($49 value).
- Spectators are welcome, but registration is required.
- Prizes are as follows: $100 for 1st; $50 for 2nd; $25 for 3rd.
- Food and drinks will be included for players and spectators to make it a true Smash Party! Board games and non-competitive Smash games will be available.
- Tournament rules are Genesis 6 ruleset.
Proceeds Benefit #ItWasNeverADress
Axosoft is only seeking to cover costs for this event through ticket sales and any proceeds earned will be donated to the #ItWasNeverADress fund supporting women in underserved communities seeking to start careers in tech. Learn more on the #ItWasNeverADress site.
Who’s Competing?
Some of the Valley’s most prominent tech companies, like American Express, McKesson, Nextiva, GitKraken, and meltmedia, just to name a few, have already registered to compete in this epic event.
