ADI Computer Solutions appoints Drew Saum as new CEO

Saum has 13 years of experience with ADI, with the move positioning the company for further growth after its recent success.

Arizona-based IT company ADI Computer Solutions has appointed Drew Saum as its new CEO. Saum, who previously served as Solutions Consultant for over a decade with the company, takes on the mantle at a time of significant expansion and change for both ADI and the industry as a whole.

“ADI has been serving small- and medium-sized businesses for over 20 years, and Drew has been a key part of growing the company in that time,” comments founder and former CEO Alan Dubla, who now takes on the role of CFO. “As the IT sector has evolved, he has implemented many of the changes required inside ADI and helped our clients negotiate the opportunities and challenges presented by new technologies and trends. As ADI continues to grow he is, quite simply, the best person to be at the helm.”

The changing face of IT
ADI launched in 1999, before the dotcom boom and when the internet was still in its infancy. “We’ve naturally seen a lot of change in the past two decades,” comments Saum. “For us, one of the largest drivers of that has been the growth and success of our own vendors and the expansion of services they provide. That takes place within a climate of greater security awareness, and clearer government regulation concerning medical data and other personal information. In a more interconnected world, there are more opportunities for malicious actors.”

Saum graduated from Cleveland State University in 2005 with a Bachelor of Business Administration, with a core focus on Computer Information Systems. He was immediately hired by GoDaddy in his first interview and was quickly promoted into a high-responsibility role in the Network Operations Center. After a period of time as Support Team Lead for cloud hosting provider iPowerWeb, he was recruited by Alan Dubla in 2007 and has worked for ADI ever since.

The ADI EDGE
Saum’s appointment coincides with a wider rebrand as the company signs contracts with major new partners and updates its providers to keep costs low while adding new functionality and services – including ticketing systems and new payment methods.

ADI’s recent growth is built on a track record of many years of successfully meeting the IT needs of SMEs. The company recently articulated its competitive differences in the ‘EDGE’ motto:

  • Experience that enables their customers to leverage technology effectively
  • Dedication, working closely with clients as an extension of their businesses
  • Grit: customers know they are in safe hands, no matter what
  • Efficiency through managed services, freeing businesses to do what they do best

“With the transition to new technologies and processes, it’s more important than ever to provide value for money. Our approach is built on allowing our clients to better leverage the ‘Information’ side of Information Technology through productive business discussions, instead of technical discussions – which should be the means but not the end,” concludes Saum.
