ADEQ offers $1 million in recycling grants after program’s 10-year hiatus

KJZZ

The Arizona Department of Environmental Quality is restarting its recycling grant program, after a decade-long hiatus.

In a press release this week, ADEQ said it will grant more than $1 million in an effort to reduce waste, educate about waste reduction and conduct recycling research.

In September, ADEQ announced the return of the Arizona Recycling Advisory Committee, appointing nine members. The committee will decide how to distribute grant funding.

Nonprofit organizations, tribal governments and private businesses are eligible for the grant. Applications are due by Dec. 1.
