AARP CEO Joins Avnet Board

Jo Ann Jenkins, CEO of AARP, has been appointed to the board of directors of Phoenix-based Avnet, a leading global technology solutions provider. She also will serve on its audit and corporate governance committees.

Jenkins joined AARP, the world’s largest non-profit, non-partisan member organization, in June 2010 and was named CEO in September 2014.

She previously was chief operating officer for the Library of Congress. She began her career with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development before moving to the U.S. Department of Transportation and U.S. Department of Agriculture in a variety of leadership roles with increasing responsibility.
