Moderator |  Ken Venner, Software Executive and Former Chief Information Officer of SpaceX. Ken Venner joined Peak6 in March 2019 as a Software Executive. Ken is building and leading a team of world class software developers, focused on creating software to simplify, streamline, automate and enable access to financial markets for everyone.

Prior to Peak6, Ken Venner was CIO at SpaceX from 2012-2018. While there, Ken focused on delivering Information Systems and Technology services that were “Like Air”, enabling SpaceX’s engineers and scientists to propel mankind forward as a multi-planetary species. Supporting a business comprised of rocket scientists and engineers, full-scale, USA-based manufacturing and a mission-critical launch/mission control team created unique challenges for an IT organization in terms of design, deployment and support. Venner’s organization was challenged to design, code, deploy and support a custom application platform, WarpDrive – the core SpaceX’s digital nervous system, that enabled this 21st century rocket company to make impossible things possible.

Speaker |  Tom Soderstrom, IT Chief Innovation Officer at NASA, Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Tom is the IT Chief Innovation Officer at NASA, Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Tom has led remote teams with large scale IT technologies, best practices, tools development, and change efforts in small startups, large commercial companies, in international venues, and in the US Government arena. He consults with researchers, startups, industry, and government leaders on how to benefit from key disrupters including technology disrupters, new organizational structures, and our 21st Century workforce. Tom is defining and actively surfing the next innovations and technology. Just recently, Tom lead the team at JPL that created 3D printable COVID-19 Respirators and filters and released them as Open Source.
