PHOENIX, October 3, 2016 – The Arizona Technology Council today announced that Leigh Goldstein has been promoted to chief operations officer (COO), and vice president, programs and events. Goldstein joined the Council in 2008 and previously served as its vice president of operations and events. The promotion will enable Goldstein to play a much bigger role in the Council’s goal of providing great experiences for members and staff.
“Leigh has been an outstanding member of our organization and a key contributor to our growth over the past eight years,” said Steven G. Zylstra, president and CEO of the Arizona Technology Council. “He is a high energy individual with tremendous organizational skills and operates as a true team player. We are grateful for his hard work and congratulate him on this well-deserved promotion.”
In his new role, Goldstein will oversee the organization’s internal operations, certain aspects of human resources, sales and programming/events. This requires the coordination of over 160 events throughout the year, including the annual Governor’s Celebration of Innovation, attended by 1000 of Arizona’s leading members of the business and technology community.
“I feel fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with such a strong, dedicated team committed to supporting Arizona’s technology sector,” said Goldstein. “As we continue to execute on our initiatives, I look forward to remaining focused on the needs of our members.”
Prior to joining the Council, Goldstein served as the promotions manager for Media Impressions advertising agency from 2006-2008. He has also held the position of marketing director with the Harlem Globetrotters, promotions coordinator with the NHL’s Phoenix Coyotes and event specialist with Westgate Sports and Entertainment for Super Bowl 42 in Glendale, Arizona. Goldstein received a bachelor of arts in business and economics from Arizona State University and associate degrees in marketing, management and organizational leadership from Mesa Community College.
