Governor’s Celebration of Innovation nominations extended to July 30

GCOI 2021 marks the 18th year of this prestigious, black-tie event that attracts more than 850 attendees for a night of networking, dining and entertainment. The event will consist of a strolling dinner and Tech Showcase followed by a theatre-style awards program. Op-ed: ACC Chair’s rhetoric about clean-energy rules doesn’t match reality

Arizona Technology Council CEO Steve Zylstra and Ceres State Policy Manager Emily Duff express their disappointment that ACC Chair Lea Márquez Peterson has reversed her position, voting down a bipartisan set of clean-energy rules twice in one month. While a more aggressive timeline to achieve 100% carbon-free electricity would have been better, the interim target to achieve 50% clean energy by 2032 will go a long way to growing a thriving clean-energy industry.

Tech Industry Impact Report shows increase in tech companies, wages and jobs

The Arizona Technology Council released its Q1-2021 Arizona Technology Industry Impact Report, providing key insights into the growth of the state’s technology sector. The new report shows tech jobs increased by 3.6%, industry wages grew by 3.07% and the number of technology companies in Arizona expanded by 4.3%, all in the last year. Additionally, tech job postings for Q1-2021 have nearly hit the high-water mark set in July 2019, a leading indicator of the robust bounce back from the pandemic.

Arizona quickly becoming the nation’s semiconductor hub
