Council recognized as 2021 Exceptional Innovator

Join the Arizona Technology Council May 13 at the Musical Instrument Museum in North Phoenix for the Greater Phoenix Chamber’s 34th Annual IMPACT Awards to recognize the Council as this year’s IMPACT Award recipient in the Exceptional Innovator category for a business with less than 250 employees. Since 1987, the Greater Phoenix Chamber has honored the accomplishments of businesses and the impact they make on the Greater Phoenix business community.

Council joins partnership to establish AZNext initiative

As part of an $8 million ASU-led U.S. Department of Labor grant, the Arizona Technology Council joins a collaborative of community partners to establish the Arizona Workforce Training Accelerator Partnership for Next Generation Jobs (AZNext). The partnership will enhance regional competitiveness, address workforce shortages and train workers for high-demand jobs in cybersecurity, advanced manufacturing and IT.

Op-Ed: Lawmakers don’t have the power to mess with utility regulators’ clean-energy rules

In this op-ed published by the Arizona Republic, Council CEO Steve Zylstra and Doran Miller, state director of The Western Way, discuss why columnist Robert Robb misses the mark completely that the Arizona Corporation Commission lacks the authority to update the energy standards at all. Additionally, he fails to recognize the ways in which modernizing clean-energy rules will benefit Arizona ratepayers, communities, the economy and environment.
