Arizona Clean Energy and Economic Recovery Roundtable

Arizona is already proving to be a leader in technology and innovation, including developing and adopting clean and renewable energy solutions for our advanced economy. As we look ahead to Arizona’s post-COVID economic recovery, we believe that the clean energy sector has the potential to play a significant role.

With that in mind, the Arizona Technology Council and The Western Way joined forces earlier this month to convene a roundtable discussion with businesses leaders in order to generate ideas and recommendations for how to best incorporate the innovation and clean energy sectors into our state’s economic recovery plan. Attendees included Nikola Corporation, PayPal, On-Semiconductor, and more. If you are interested in learning more or becoming involved in the roundtable, please contact [email protected]. Together, we can ensure that Arizona is positioned for a strong economic recovery and lead in driving clean energy technology.

Creating smart cities of the future

Futurists, scientists, business leaders and government officials at all levels envision smart cities where citizens and visitors thrive in tandem with technology. Fine-tuned and seamlessly operated, these modern urban environments hum with advanced multi-modal transit systems, and self-sustaining energy grids powered by renewable energy.

While incremental progress has been made in varying degrees across the country, cities and communities continue to face complex challenges, including lack of charging infrastructure for greater adoption of electric vehicles, infrastructure upkeep, population growth and sustainability issues. The 2020 Smart City and IoT Conference provided the perfect opportunity for sharing current advances in the development and implementation of smart cities and IoT in Arizona, across the United States and beyond.
