Arizona Technology Council member, Tempe-based LifeLock has entered into an agreement to be purchased by Symantec in a deal valued at $2.3 billion, bringing together the leader in consumer security with a popular provider of identity protection and remediation services.
The new team will result in the world’s largest consumer security business. Symantec is headquartered in Mountain View, Calif.
The deal is expected to close in the first calendar quarter of 2017. The transaction is subject to the satisfaction of customary closing conditions, including LifeLock stockholder approval and regulatory approval in the United States.
