Carvana Begins Car Delivery to Homes in Phoenix
After an expansion into nearly three dozen markets across the country, online vehicle retailer Carvana began offering its as-soon-as next-day delivery to hometown Phoenix — officially its market No. 33. They started this service in August.
Carvana has delivered vehicles to customers in 48 states and now offers delivery to residents in 37 markets — Los Angeles became the latest this month — along with five unique car vending machines.
In addition to the continued expansion, Carvana recently acquired Carlypso, which gives consumers direct access to wholesale inventory. Carlypso developed proprietary big data, analytics and machine learning tools to dynamically filter, value and price cars nearly instantaneously for consumers.

Largest Co-Working Space in AZ to Open in December
Amsterdam-born workspace pioneer Spaces has selected One Renaissance Tower at 2 N. Central Ave. in downtown Phoenix for its debut in Arizona. Spaces will occupy the 18th and 19th floors, totaling 39,743 square feet, making it the largest co-working space in Arizona when it opens in December 2017.

Avnet Acquires Dragon Innovation
Phoenix-based Avnet has acquired Dragon Innovation, which helps customers understand manufacturing costs and schedules, find factories and manage production as they scale their businesses and move from design to prototype to volume production.
Dragon Innovation complements Avnet’s breadth in the industrial market with strong consumer electronics market experience by simplifying the manufacturing process, particularly for those projects that advance the Internet of Things.
Through its cloud-based platform paired with a team of hardware manufacturing experts, Dragon Innovation manages the process from strategy and planning for earlier stage products to factory selection and production oversight.
$10M investment for Emailage
Chandler-based Emailage, the leading provider of global fraud prevention and identity verification using email address scoring, has received a $10 million growth equity investment. The company will use the funds to expand existing partnerships, further advance its powerful email address-based predictive scoring system, and accelerate growth in North America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Latin America and other key markets.
Anthos Capital led the investment, with participation from Tallwave Capital, Radian Capital, Wipro Ventures and Mucker Capital.
Emailage combines vast email transaction history, machine learning algorithms, and positive and negative data to generate a predictive risk score, which helps improve the risk assessment of any transaction where an email address is provided. Use cases include online transactions, new accounts/sign up process, customer account maintenance and marketplace listings.
PADT Expands Academia Support to Colorado
Phoenix Analysis and Design Technologies (PADT), based at the ASU Research Park in Tempe, is teaming with Stratasys, a global leader in applied additive technology solutions, to launch a unique additive manufacturing lab at the Metropolitan State University of Denver.
Expected to open later this fall, the Lockheed Martin Additive Manufacturing Laboratory will be a first for Colorado with dedication to advanced use of 3D printing for creation of composite tooling applications addressing complex design and manufacturing requirements.
Earlier this year, PADT partnered with Stratasys, ASU’s Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering and others to launch the Manufacturing Research and Innovation Hub at ASU’s Polytechnic School. The Hub is largest additive manufacturing research facility in Southwest.
