Global President Named for Avnet Distribution
Avnet, a leading global technology distributor based in Phoenix and Platinum Arizona Technology Council Annual Sponsor, has named Phillip Gallagher the global president of its Core Distribution Business, a role that includes overseeing its supplier relationships, global procurement and supply chain solutions business.
Reporting to Gallagher in this new role will be Avnet’s three regional presidents for the Americas, Europe and Asia Pacific, along with the supplier management, global procurement and supply chain services teams.
He began his career with Avnet in 1983 and held executive leadership positions in sales, marketing and operations during his time with the company. He left Avnet in 2014 and was most recently president, Americas sales and marketing for TTI, a leading authorized distributor of interconnect, passive, electromechanical and discrete components.
Two VPs Claim Top Roles at JDA Software
Scottsdale-based JDA Software Group has promoted Mark Morgan to executive vice president and chief revenue officer, making him responsible for the company’s global sales organization. Also, David Rye has been named to the new role of senior vice president of strategy and corporate development, charging him with shaping JDA’s corporate strategy around its portfolio, services, cloud and go-to-market approach.
Morgan had been senior vice president of sales for JDA’s North American operations. Previously, he served as regional vice president of sales for the company’s Europe, Middle East and Africa operations and as vice president leading the JDA’s North American manufacturing sales organization.
Rye is new to JDA. Until last year, he was at Informatica, where he served as senior vice president of corporate development responsible for strategy, corporate and business development, strategic investments, and operational transformation initiatives.
UA Ecosystem Impact of the Year Award
Katina Koller, CEO of Northwire, was presented the Ecosystem Impact of the Year Award at the Tech Launch Arizona’s fourth annual awards event at The University of Arizona. The I-Squared Expo & Awards honor those whose work directly affects the quality of life for people in Tucson, across Arizona and throughout the world through research, collaboration and technology commercialization.
Besides being a volunteer commercialization partner for Tech Launch Arizona, Koller is an active participant in its weekly roundtable discussions related to technology advancement and has served as a mentor for National Science Foundation I-Corps teams. In addition, she is a Vistage Chair.
