For Scottsdale-based Apriva, 2013 was a very good year. For starters, it handled more than $9.5 billion in point-of-sale gateway processed transactions, which was 17.3 percent more than the total processed in the previous year.
The company also had a 300 percent increase in use of its mobile payment software that allows businesses to accept card payments on smartphones and tablets. The software is offered as an AprivaPay Plus-branded solution and a rebranded product from other merchant services providers and financial institutions.
Apriva also reported its cashless payments technologies have been rolled out at more than 250 university campuses in the United States and Canada. In addition, more than 30 payment processors and financial institutions rely on the company’s gateway to conduct mobile transactions.
