Technology Director – Trinity Lutheran Church
POSITION TITLE: TECHNOLOGY DIRECTOR
POSITION STATUS: PART-TIME, 10-20 HOURS PER WEEK (DOES NOT INCLUDE BENEFITS)
REPORTING TO: PASTOR, COLLABORATING WITH CHOIR DIRECTOR
Trinity is looking for a Part-Time Technology Director who demonstrates a proficiency in worship-related technology and computers. The Technology Director will oversee worship related Audio and Video equipment, computers, and will assist in training and coordinating volunteer operators for worship services and other Trinity events. The Technology Director understands video, projection, cameras, audio, and related presentation computer software and editing tools. The Technology Director will also oversee content and administration of Trinity’s website, including online services, as well as programming and maintenance of Trinity’s digital outdoor sign, and the maintenance and updating of computers and software in all areas of the church.The Sunday Worship Experience (2-3 hours per week, Sunday A.M. required)
- Provide leadership and oversight to technology (audio, video, cameras, TV screens, computers and lighting) for the Sunday morning service(s), including the operation, updating and troubleshooting of equipment and gear.
- Operate as the point person to turn on and set up all equipment at least 1 hour before worship services begin.
- Ensure that scheduled volunteers have the required information regarding any A/V needs for the worship service.
- Set up or direct the set up of any needed microphones, monitors or instruments (i.e., keyboard, piano, etc.) for each service ahead of the scheduled service, and ensure that each channel is appropriately mixed for in-house and online quality. Sunday report time: 8:30 a.m.
- Oversee the uploading and display of worship lyric projection slides and announcement slides.
- Provide and maintain a high level of excellence in all technical aspects of the worship experience, and have a mind geared towards development and bettering our in-house and online worship experience by integrating sound, cameras and lighting.
Weekly Duties (2-7 hours per week)
- Regularly program, update and maintain Trinity’s digital outdoor sign by coordinating messaging with Pastor and staff. Coordinate with Board of Trustees Head in the event of any technical problems.
- Oversee, procure, update and maintain all sound and media equipment owned by Trinity Lutheran Church in connection with worship.
- Work with the Pastor to recruit and train volunteers to run media/tech systems as well as schedule and coordinate volunteers.
- Maintain how-to documents (desk top manuals) to assist others in using the tech systems.
- Communicate with staff and Pastor pertaining to set up for A/V needs for the upcoming weeks.
- Video Editing – edit, render, and upload the Message on Facebook and our YouTube Channel.
- Attend in-person meetings on occasion with staff or A/V volunteers.
- Ensure that computers and software in all areas of the church are updated and maintained.
- Assist in developing other technology needs as they arise
Job Skills, Attributes and Qualifications
- Able to mix audio, operate A/V equipment, expertise in presentation software and execution, proficiency in video presentation and editing (or able to learn quickly)
- Experience in or the ability to learn digital sound, livestream platforms, and related software
- Knowledge of Dante servers is strongly preferred
- Ability to troubleshoot problems which may occur during a service and efficiently recover the service
- Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a commitment to the mission, vision and core values of Trinity
- An ability to grow into new areas or technologies as needed
- Receptive to change and constantly striving for excellence
- Good communication skills with both volunteers and staff/leadership
- Professional completion of time-sensitive tasks related to weekly services and events

- Formal education is preferred but not a predetermining factor for this position, but a basic understanding and experience of the above is a must!
Compensation
$30.00/Hr. – $40.00/Hr., depending upon experience and technical skill level
