The U.S. Commercial Service is teaming up with experts from several Federal agencies to present the STOPfakes.gov Roadshow to help you protect your intellectual property in global markets. Speakers from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, NAVSEA and others will deliver critically important information about protecting intellectual property to the audience that needs it most – start-ups, entrepreneurs, small and medium-sized businesses, independent creators, and inventors.
Participants will learn:
• How to identify and protect the various intellectual property (IP) assets they have
• The mechanisms for obtaining IP protection in overseas markets and strategies for determining where they should seek protection
• How to record their mark with Customs, with on-site help for online recordation, in order to exclude counterfeit goods from entering the United States
• How to combat counterfeits on international e-commerce sites; and about government resources available to help U.S. business with intellectual property issues
In short, you will learn information vital to competing in an increasingly global environment.
One-on-One Meetings
One-on-ones are available for participants to meet with the speakers for 10-minute sessions to discuss IP-related issues.
On-site Recordation
On-site recordation is made available by U.S. Customs and Border Protection. Roadshow staff will guide the business owner through the online recordation process.
