Gigabit Broadband is coming. Is Your community ready?
You’ve heard about Google Fiber and the more than 400 other cities with ‘Gigabit’ broadband connectivity. You’ve probably heard about the economic gains that Chattanooga has seen– some estimates put it at $1 billion over the past five years.
More than 100 other communities—including Chattanooga, Kansas City and Charlotte—are moving forward in the development of new products and services from ultra high-speed broadband networks and “Internet of Things” platforms. Individuals who wish for their city to be included in this revolution are welcome to attend the event in Scottsdale this December.
Civic leaders from throughout Arizona are invited to attend the “Smart Gigabit Phoenix” conference and demo event, in part of a six region-wide educational and networking events planned for 2016. Attendees will include elected officials, city managers, city administrators, urban planners, managers of IT systems, managers of public works, and more.
Our educational content combines the infrastructure focus of the ‘gigabit city’ with the infrastructure considerations for the ‘smart city.’ As the infrastructure of the digital economy, these networks are inextricably linked. This focus on ‘infrastructure first’ will provide the fundamental knowledge for all civic stakeholders.
