ASU Biodesign Institute presents Groovy Science Saturday, Nov. 14, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Outdoor event, Tent #K-91, near 430 E. University Drive, Tempe, AZ 85287 Just after the parade and before the ASU Homecoming football game against the Washington Huskies, everyone can enjoy a free block party, with more than 150 tents and activities. In between all of the block party fun, students (young and old) can roll up their sleeve to see how hip science can be. Groove on over to the ASU Biodesign tent (#K-91) to make your very own lava lamp and learn about density and polarity. Drop in your favorite color and light up your own bubbling show. Learn about your metabolism with a cool breath test to inform your weight loss. Just in time for flu season, “Glitter in the Grooves” will exercise your germ-sense as you see how glitter “germs” spread. Tobacco plants used to make the experimental Ebola therapy ZMappTM will be on display. Spin our prize wheel before you leave and win when you answer a question about how Biodesign’s science improves health, protects lives and sustains our planet.
