Calling all Female Founders! Let’s Get Together.
Join 49 other fabulous female founders at our second Female Founders Forum. The Female Founders Forum is a quarterly networking event that brings together women who have founded their own company/organization. Participants leverage the power of their connections and help each other solve burning issues to move their businesses forward. Participants are asked to identify their ONE issue or “ask” and leave with connections to a solution plus add new additions to their network.
The evening begins with welcoming remarks from our presenter and sponsor, Sherman & Howard, plus time for mingling and writing your “asks” on the whiteboard/chalkboard at The Pig’s Meow Beer & Wine Bar in Arcadia.
Sherman & Howard advises employers on all phases of the employment relationship, from application through termination, and on best practices concerning workplace policies, discipline, investigations, layoffs and reductions in force, and other employee relations issues. The firm’s 175 attorneys practice law from 11 offices in Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Georgia and Missouri. For more information, please visit Sherman & Howard’s website at shermanhoward.com.
Light appetizers will be served and each attendee will receive two drink tickets.
Emily Keimig, a partner from Sherman & Howard, will be presenting on management-side employment law issues including:
- Employment classifications: Employee or independent contractor?
- Internships and training programs: Do employers have to pay?
- Probationary periods and working interviews: Can employers “try out” prospective employees?
Please note: This event is reserved for business founders and aspiring founders, only. This is not a typical networking event, it is a working session where entrepreneurs come together to help each other move forward. Each attendee gets to ask for help on ONE burning challenge they have in their business. Only 50 spaces are available, so please help us understand your business in your event registration so we can ensure a good fit for all. Got questions? Email Merry Lake Merrell at mmerrell@aztechcouncil.org.
