Phoenix-based BioAccel, which is dedicated to supporting early-stage medical device and technology entrepreneurs, has announced competition categories for its Solutions Challenge, a competition that challenges entrepreneurs to solve critical healthcare needs through the advancement of medical device and information technology solutions.
For the 2016 Solutions Challenge to be held Dec. 1, special consideration will be given to ventures that positively affect, impact or focus on behavioral/mental health patients and aging populations in one of the following categories:
- digital, wearable and mobile health
- specialized materials and composites
- Regents Rivalry Award for students
- coordinated care
- novel medical devices
- early diagnosis tools for dementia, identified by Banner Health
BioAccel identifies local “Scorpions,” individuals willing to invest in early-stage, innovative companies solving healthcare issues. Deadline for applications (available at
bioaccel.org/program/apply-to-program) is Friday, September 19.
