Arizona voters will be deciding on a governor in November, and the Arizona Technology Council fully supports the reelection of Gov. Doug Ducey. He has worked hard to secure more than 160,000 private-sector jobs in Arizona, many of which resulted from our pro-technology government, and the entrepreneur and startup-friendly ecosystem he created.
Governor Ducey has also been successful in attracting new businesses to our state with more than 300 companies relocating to Arizona during his time in office. Technology companies such as Uber, Benchmark, Amazon, Caterpillar, and Upgrade, as well as a bevy of startups, have come to Arizona to open headquarters or new offices.
Most importantly, Governor Ducey has been extremely supportive of disruptive technologies by steering the state clear of any weighty regulations halting their development. As a result, ridesharing companies, self-driving startups and IoT developers have come to Phoenix to ensure their innovations can continue to grow. Helping create a supportive atmosphere for the research and development of these sectors is paramount to achieving our goal of competing with the nation’s traditional technology hubs.
The Arizona economy, and the technology and business ecosystem, are stronger than ever and are continuing to make huge strides forward. Governor Ducey has the support of the Council and its Public Policy Committee.
