The Arizona Technology Council is a first time partner at WESTEC, the premier west coast manufacturing event, which returns to the Los Angeles Convention Center on Tuesday, October 15 thru Thursday, October 17, 2013. Produced by the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME), WESTEC was previously scheduled as a spring 2014 event, but increased industry demand and participant feedback convinced the organizers to shift the date forward.
For nearly 50 years, WESTEC has built a reputation as the west coast’s premier technological showcase for the manufacturing industry. Generations of manufacturers have used the event as a forum to find cutting-edge equipment, explore advanced technologies, and learn innovative new production methods to help grow their businesses. Many of the industry’s top equipment manufacturers have unveiled technological breakthroughs at WESTEC—from software, cutting tools, 3D printers to multi-tasking machines.
At WESTEC attendees will and discover new metal working, machine tools, automation and design equipment to expand your manufacturing operation. WESTEC 2013 will build upon the overall success of the last exhibition, held March 2012, as a hub of industry innovation and business development. WESTEC 2012 saw increased attendees and exhibitors from years past, with more than 13,000 people and 400 exhibiting companies participating. Of these participants more than 35 percent were first-time attendees.
WESTEC Features Will Include:
- An Additive Manufacturing Resource Center which will help attendees discover how this revolutionary technology can lower production expenses and speed product development.
- The Bridging the Skills Gap Pavilion and Summit where attendees can reach Southern California educators, teachers, counselors, CTE directors, and school board members. The program will include escorted visits to the show floor, explaining the purpose of the technology exhibited as well as training sessions in the WESTEC Theater on manufacturing career opportunities. There will also be a ToolingU demo and discussion panel followed by a Q & A session. An industry sponsored casual lunch will also be provided.
- The SME Resource Center to help attendees discover SME. Through its strategic areas of events, membership, training and development, media and the SME Education Foundation, SME connects all those who are passionate about making things that improve our world.
