Steve Phillips, CIO for Phoenix-based Avnet, has been name a 2015 inductee into the CIO Hall of Fame from IDG’s CIO magazine in recognition of leadership that has significantly impacted the field of IT. Phillips joined Avnet as CIO in 2005, following the company’s acquisition of electronics distributor Memec. He also is a past chairman of the board of the Arizona Technology Council.
In other news at Avnet, a leading global technology distributor, Rodney C. Adkins has been appointed to the company’s board of directors, and will serve on both the audit and corporate governance committees. He is president of 3RAM Group LLC, a privately held company specializing in capital investments, business consulting services and property management.
Also, Avnet Technology Solutions has named Dee Lear as its new senior vice president of Emerging Channels for the Americas. She will be responsible for the strategic direction, expansion and growth of emerging channels, and will lead efforts to expand Avnet Technology Solutions’ market share and drive growth through new partner acquisition and partner expansion in the Americas.
