Honeywell to supply flight deck technology for Vertical Aerospace’s urban air mobility vehicle
Honeywell (NYSE: HON) and Vertical Aerospace have signed a letter of intent naming Honeywell as the supplier for flight deck technologies for its demonstrator aircraft program. The demonstrator program will help Vertical Aerospace understand flight characteristics, system requirements and the flight deck user interface to further the development of its urban air mobility (UAM) vehicle. The agreement deepens the collaboration between the two companies following the signing of contracts in 2019 to equip Vertical demonstration aircraft with the Honeywell Compact Fly-By-Wire System and flight control software. University of Arizona Awarded $26M to Architect the Quantum Internet
The University of Arizona will receive an initial, five-year, $26 million grant from the National Science Foundation, with an additional five-year $24.6 million option, to establish and lead a new National Science Foundation Engineering Research Center – called the Center for Quantum Networks (CQN) – with core partners Harvard University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Yale University. CQN aims to lay the foundations of the quantum internet, which will revolutionize how humankind computes, communicates and senses the world, by creating a fabric to connect quantum computers, data centers and gadgets using their native quantum information states of quantum bits.

CenturyLink wins contract to provide advanced technology to state agencies
CenturyLink, Inc. recently won a contract with the State of Arizona to provide network connectivity and managed IT services that will support all state government agencies and transform how the state delivers services to residents. The company will be providing local and wide area network management, WiFi, security, unified voice communications, contact center communications, IT management, data center and cloud-based services to the state under the new AZNet contract. Having won the previous AZNet contract, CenturyLink recently won an expanded version that emphasizes modern, cloud-based integrated security, automation and orchestration services. The new contract has a five-year term and two one-year options. Avnet names interim CEO
Global tech-solutions provider Avnet appoints Phil Gallagher as global president of Avnet’s Electronic Components business, as the company’s interim chief executive officer. Gallagher has worked at Avnet for over 30 years and has held executive leadership positions in sales, marketing, and operations. Recently, he was the Global President of Avnet’s Electronics Components business.
