Deborah Zack

Deborah Zack brings vast and diverse life and job experiences with her to the Arizona Technology Council. Born in Jacksonville, Florida the daughter of a career Naval Officer, her first move was at six weeks to Trinidad, British West Indies.

After graduating from high school in Hawaii she attended San Diego State University. After two years she “retired” and traveled around Europe for six months living in a Volkswagen van. Upon returning to the States she became a flight attendant for United Airlines domiciled in Chicago. Deborah transferred to San Francisco with United, and also attended the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising. After moving to Phoenix and commuting to San Francisco for work, Deborah soon left United Airlines and returned to school at Arizona State University where she graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Clothing and Textiles. Her next job was as a buyer for junior bottoms, denim, swimwear and accessories at Goldwater’s Department Store.

In the early 1990s she launched a line of children’s clothing called EZ n AZ which was sold internationally. When the momentum slowed down, Deborah started working for the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation at Taliesin West. Initially it was part time work for sales of memberships. The job grew into weekend manager and culminated as the Public Access Manager.

Bringing together her community relationship building skills and the ability to provide creative solutions, Deborah’s time with the Council has produced a steady increase in membership.

Deborah's volunteer work has included the Junior League of Phoenix, the National Assistance League, the Arizona Costume Institute (part of the Phoenix Art Museum ) and K-12 in the Scottsdale school system when her twin boys were in school.
