The rapid pace of technological innovation and the explosion of data worldwide are impacting companies globally. CIO’s and their internal IT teams are faced with balancing the demands of adding more business applications, processes, servers combined with increased regulatory requirements, and operational efficiencies.

The impact of these demands on the data center is complex. CIO’s don’t have a crystal ball to predict the amount of data center space they will need, or will not need, over the next 5-10 years. About the Presenter
Kevin Timmons is the CTO of CyrusOne and leads CyrusOne’s data center design technologies and development plans. Prior to joining CyrusOne, he served as the general manager, data center services, at Microsoft. Responsible for defining, communicating, and executing the company’s data center strategy, Kevin achieved considerable improvements in lowering the company’s carbon footprint by implementing many green initiatives across data center operations in 10 countries. A 15-year veteran of the industry, Kevin has also held positions as the vice president of operations at Yahoo! and as the director of operations at GeoCities. He joined CyrusOne in 2011.
