Event Description:

On the heels of a successful inaugural trade delegation to China, the Arizona Technology Council has teamed with the Arizona Chamber of Commerce and Industry to provide another exploratory mission to China for Arizona business leaders.

The 2011 trade delegation will depart Phoenix on Wednesday, September 14, 2011 and will travel to Shanghai, Chengdu, Hong Kong, Shenzhen and Macau, before returning to Phoenix on Saturday, September 24. As Arizona's third largest trading partner and with over 1.4 billion consumers, Arizona businesses need to understand the opportunities available in China's expanding market. The cities and regions included on this trip were chosen for their diverse economies and industries, and will offer a broad view of regional differences in a country that is the second largest economy in the world.

This trip will include meetings with governmental and business leaders in China as well as an in-depth exploration of Chinese cultural. An integral component of understanding Chinese business is learned through touring this magnificent country, and this trip will blend business with sightseeing in each city we visit. Cultural visits planned thus far include: a morning at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, a conservation facility aimed at nurturing and expanding the Giant Panda population; a boat ride down the Bund in Shanghai; and a famed acrobat troupe show in Shanghai.

This tour is open to Arizona Technology Council and Arizona Chamber of Commerce & Industry members and non-members. Topics to be covered in China include: manufacturing, technology, academia, law and a general overview of international business. The tour is operated by China Direct Consulting Group in partnership with China International Travel Services (CITS).
